Long-Term Vision
The long-term vision of the RCP Citizen Planning Group is to create a local government – citizen collaborative to maintain and enhance the park, similar to other models where citizens tend to a public-use facility while local government maintains the use permit. Examples of this model include the Central Park Conservancy ( http://www.centralparknyc.org ) in New York City and, locally, Friends of Mount Hope Cemetery ( http://www.fomh.org ).
Free use of the facility as a public space is a core value of the RCP Citizen Planning Group, and any future enhancements will be made through charitable contributions. Maintenance of the RCP should be very minimal. Pre-cast concrete skate parks, particularly pre-cast concrete skate parks protected from the elements, need little to no maintenance if they are constructed properly.
